Rehearsal for your big wedding day is not only important, it is vital. That is why they made it a rehearsal dinner, to entice everyone to attend. He will more than likely be on a time table schedule that will depend on your ceremony coming off without a hitch. This is common courtesy and will be especially true in a morning ceremony. No-one wants the pastor hurrying through a ceremony because he has another and the proceeding is running late.

The rehearsal dinner is an important phase of togetherness and a stage of your wedding where two families come together for a little face time. Religion and politics are two very good examples of what the families should avoid or at least keep to a minimum. If there is friction, be ready to step in, perhaps with a toast, to gently lead the discussion to other, less volatile areas if discussion.
